Traffic icons for a webmap and a traffic list
Requestor: Cybernited
Brief: We need about 5 different icons, that optionally have 2 states each (use for webmap and use in a list).
The one that is used for the webmap can have a pointer to indicate exact location on the web map, whereas the one in the list (same icon though) shouldnt have such pointer. It's not a requirement though. If you are able to make it look good on both the webmap and in a list, this is fine too.
The 5 types of traffic icons I need are for:
- Traffic Jams / Congestions: to indicate a traffic jam in a webmap or list.
- Traffic Accident: a accident happend at this location
- Traffic Incident: a other type of traffic incident (like : lane closed, exit blocked, object/animal on road, ..)
- Speed traps / radars: police speed trap
- Road works
Deliverables: I need the vector formats (.eps or .ai) for those icons, so I can scale them to whatever resolution i would need them for.
I will require 5 different files (or 10 if you have created seperate versions for the (pushpin) webmap version and list view.

Company description: My company is of no importance. However do note that these icons will be used in a traffic application for Belgium.
Interested in: I think the major challenge is making them look different enough, but still retaining some notion of familiarity. They need to be cohesive as they will be shown together on a webmap/list.

For traffic congestion icon i really can't find anything that looks nice !

Traffic incidents: Usually are marked with a '!' . Feel free to try something here.
I would suggest you create a single icon first and then ask me if I like it, so that you don't waste your time on many things :).

Cybernited: Suus, mijn punt was eerder om u geen extra werk te laten doen omdat we nu eenmaal niet op dezelfde lijn zitten qua ontwerp. Dat is geen kwestie van 1 ontwerp, maar meer een kwestie van smaak over uw ontwerpen. Ik heb reeds, naar mijn smaak, betere designs verkregen waardoor ik het dus niet meer dan eerlijk vind om u geen extra werk te laten doen als het toch nergens zal toe leiden. In ieder geval bedankt voor uw geleverd werk.

coloresque: Can you please tell me what has to become better about them? I'm a little confused because my first attempt got more points and my last one contains adaptations which you asked.
coloresque: I put up a little sample like you suggested, so I show 3 icons here trying to show the difference and the resemblance at the same time. I consider color to be very important in traffic signage yet I don't want to make them look cliché. So this is an attempt to use color more in a subtle way
suus: jammer, ontwerpen is ook communiceren, 'not quite what i'm looking for' en 'these are already a lot better' is niet heel erg doordachte kritiek, zo kan een ontwerper nooit weten welke kant de opdrachtgever op wil... ik bedoel het is geen waarzeggerij of natte vinger werk, de ontwerper en opdrachtgever gaan sámen door middel van goede feedback van de opdrachtgever op zoek naar de juiste designoplossing... geen arrogantie hier, gewoon een tip voor de volgende keer als je weer in zee gaat met een ontwerper en het ook serieus neemt...

Thank you for your contribution. I must be honest and say that this is not what I'm looking for.
The first issue with the design is that the icons look old (and not modern and refined). I also had to look closely to identify their meaning. The colors also had no relation to the icon itself. Like it is generally accepted to use yellow for roadworks, as i had stated in my initial request.
